For this page I chose images that don't depend too much on the context of a sequence - with one exception, "The Baby Devil":
I love expressive faces that create a connection with the viewer:
Stone can be a fascinating medium, combining abstraction with life-like intensity. A hard material, but with a beautiful surface, sometimes with an interesting structure. These are AI generated "photos", but indeed, if I were a sculptor (or had a co-operation with one) I would love to make these real. I took inspiration from historical works, but I don't aim at any stylistic correctness. Some sculptures just fascinated me and I wanted to explore that path.
It is interesting to translate paintings into sculptures. In stone I tend to like perfection, but paintings to me are often more interesting if they leave some things vague, are exectuted with rough brush strokes or show signs of decay, which adds to the meaning:
Facing dissolution. Golden background, painted on with rough strokes of black paint. The concurrency of the contradictory.
Merging layers of reality. The artist merging with his work.
I must admit, I like vampires.
The women tend to be more stylish:
No vampires. I think the first one would make a nice cover for a record.
